Very creamy and decadent. For me, the spinach is a little too long and stringy and would have benefited from being blended first. There is too much emphasis on the cream and not enough on the cheese- I like a flavoursome, browned cheese on the top; this cannelloni didn’t deliver. *Review from May 2013

Tasty. Classic Mexican flavours. The torilla chips soften, which is a disappointment, but is to be expected. Lots of rice, not an awful lot of mince. I enjoyed this meal, but considering the meagre rations of meat and cheese and the abundance of rice, this isn’t worth the £2.50 I paid (and this was supposedly… [Read More]
The tomato-packed sauce ends up being watery, the king prawns tough and chewy and the basil undetectable. This is reasonable in terms of its taste, but unreasonable in terms of its cost. Not particularly filling, and far too expensive given the cost and quality of the ingredients. Not flavoursome enough nor exciting enough. A bit… [Read More]
Something unidentifiable in the rice, looks like a cross between chicken and a cardamom pod. Anyway, the sauce is quite tomatoey and separates into water and solids a little, which isn’t pleasant, but the flavours are nice- much like a tikka massala but not as creamy. The rice is tasty but on the rubbery side…. [Read More]
The onions are very lightly cooked and crunchy. Generous quantity of chicken, though it is on the dry/chewy side. The rice is a bit of an extra faff around, requiring watering mid heating. The end result means the rice is not dry, though the lifeless pieces of egg and peas don’t add anything to the… [Read More]
Disappointed that there wasn’t a microwave option. But, I suppose it was all for the best- the resulting roast potatoes are crispy, flavoursome and complement the meal well. There are a lot of potatoes, more so than it first appears, so this is quite a filling meal. The chicken breast is a nice size and… [Read More]
Wow, these sausages are bready. I dread to think how much meat is in them. The mash is sticky and flavourless. There is hardly any gravy, so this part was hard to review, but it has a nice onion flavour. Finally, the portion size is tiny- this is no more than a snack for adults,… [Read More]
£3.29 is at the high end of the ready meals market. I love the presentation of the food and the clear use of fresh ingredients. The fact that this is one of your five a day comes as a pleasant surprise. The plentiful quantities of chicken is gorgeous- a nice tandoori flavour with a smoky,… [Read More]
The whole dish is very dry. Thoughtless use of cabbage, which is tough and chewy and does not compliment the meal well. There is a fair quantity of chicken, and the rich, nutty sauce is tasty, even if it mostly evaporates during the cooking process. Expensive for what you get.
I just had to try this. A *microwavable* omelette, SURELY, can’t work. Sure, it’s a little rubbery, and smells a bit like a pancake. It’s watery in places. And at £1 for two, these are much more expensive than making one fresh for yourself. On the whole, however, I was pleasantly surprised. Coming from the… [Read More]
