Iceland Beef Stew and Dumplings

Tasty, succulent beef, although the pieces are meagre in size and there aren’t many of them. I also found myself chewing on a huge piece of gristle, which wasn’t a nice surprise. The carrots and crisp enough and sweet, very nice.

I found the dumplings to be quite inconsistent – soggy to the point of liquid in place, and downright chewy in others. They are generously sized, however, and though a little bit bland, I was expecting worse from a meal that costs £1.

The stew/sauce is fine; nothing special but a little on the salty side.
