Pot Noodle Chicken & Mushroom

Ahhhh, the humble pot noodle. A classic. The epitome of student munch.

We know it’s not haute cuisine. We know it’s not particularly healthy. But by golly, it’s a British institution, and it will continue to feed students long after Brexit does or doesn’t happen.

As the name suggests, it’s a pot of noodles. The noodles are topped with flavoured powder that dissolves when water is added. There’s a sachet of soy sauce to add for flavour.

It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s tasty, and the only thing to wash up is a fork. You can’t beat a pot noodle.

There are real pieces of sweetcorn and mushroom in this, and weird chewy bits that must pass as chicken. One of your five a day this ain’t, but it’s got a rich umami undertone and fat, chewy noodles that fill a hole.

Any self respecting student should have half a dozen of these in their cupboard. Great when you’re low on time, and unlikely to cause any kitchen arguments with the housemates. You can’t go far wrong with one of these.
