No, it doesn’t look good. Giving it a stir didn’t make it look any more appetising. With a repulsed look on my face, I took my first bite… The noodles are horribly soft and the chicken tikka masala sauce is nothing to rave about. I was impressed by the real pieces of chicken, though don’t… [Read More]

Gorgeous taste of coriander! Pleasant citrus-y aftertaste, very similar to chicken tikka, only without the chicken! Wonderful Indian flavours. Tasty garlic complements the spices. Pleasant cous cous texture. The instructions indicated that I could also add a nob of butter or some olive oil for extra richness; this isn’t required. It’s plenty rich enough already…. [Read More]
There is far too much basil in this. The spaghetti really is just like tinned spaghetti. In other words, far too soft, especially for spaghetti bolognese. There are tiny pieces of mincemeat, you will genuinely struggle to see them.
Hamburgers in a tin were always going to be an odd one. I opened the tin and saw a splodgy mess of meaty paste. I scooped a hamburger out with a fork; it seemed a decent size. And the whole thing smelled quite good. I scooped the rest out, and there were the remnants of… [Read More]
Meaty sauce. Pleasant but nothing special. Packed with meat and potatoes- good, hearty food. The dumplings are a bit disappointing- total lack of flavour, slightly too sticky. Still, they’re adequate, and there are two of them. Nicely cooked beef.
The pork steak tastes like chewy spam. It’s actually a nice textural variety when compared with the other meats. The appetizing sounding “shaped beef and cereal cutlet” tastes nice and meaty but is suspiciously soft. Standard ‘hot dog flavour’ sausages. Two of them. And they’re big. Completely flavourless button mushrooms (all two of them). This… [Read More]
Very cheesy sauce. I enjoyed it, but it might be overpowering for some. The pieces of broccoli are small, but you can taste them. Quite nice. Nothing to rave about.
A very soft, spongy texture, tasty enough, but soft even compared to Sainsbury’s basics meatballs. Has the texture of a custard slice. Tasty tomato sauce, though you can practically feel it clogging up your arteries as you eat. Dread to think what’s in these meatballs, but they too are tasty. 3*
This looked very uninviting when I opened the tin- I was greeted by a light brown sludge that I was willing to bet my life savings on the fact that it couldn’t possibly turn into a nice pastry. Luckily, my life savings don’t amount to much. The act of cooking the pie works some amazing… [Read More]
The pasta is still crunchy in places, but it is not entirely unpleasant- it’s as if there are crisps in my pasta dish. Tasty, rich cheesy sauce. Quick, easy instructions. I had doubts that the whole snack would fit in my mug so used a bowl; I’m glad, as I had a particularly small mug… [Read More]
