This is my third Charlie Bigham offering. I just can’t help myself when I see it reduced to half price (meals typically retail at about £7-8). Whilst I bought this on offer, it does feed two, so the £3.50-£4 RRP per person is comparable to standard ready meals. It takes a little more time than… [Read More]

My second Charlie Bigham meal – this time with rice. It’s already in better stead than the Moroccan Chicken Tagine. It comes with some foil you need to wrap around the curry and the rice, which are in two separate containers. It then goes in the oven for about half an hour. You can really… [Read More]
This dish has lots of salmon – big chunks of it. The salad itself is very sweet. But otherwise is nice and healthy, with plenty of lentils and chickpeas. It’s definitely not very big overall – more of a side dish than a main. Think this was just under £2, which for salmon is not… [Read More]
At first sight, this looks promising, and looks as though it really could be the fish and chip shop experience from the comfort of one’s own home. Nice parsley flavours in the creamy sauce, and the fish is tasty but turns slightly chewy in the microwave. It’s worth noting that the fish portions in here are meagre in size! However, the sauce is actually edible this time! The prawns are tasty and crispy. For £2, if this were a takeaway I’d be pretty impressed. It’s worth… [Read More]
1 of your 5 a day- a good start! Creamy, tasty sauce, lots of parsley. Sweet carrots, flavoursome peas and nice, soft potatoes. The salmon fillet is a little on the small side, but is bone-free and has a strong salmon flavour. £2, Iceland. A pleasantly healthy meal!
Tasty, nice Thai flavours, goes well with Sainsbury’s own Thai Rice. 40 seconds only makes it lukewarm, so ignore the microwave instructions and pop it in for a bit longer. Overpriced for the amount you get, so loses marks there.
