Kerry Foods Made For You Piri Piri Chicken with Spicy Potato Wedges

The piri piri sauce has a really nice flavour- a sort of sweet, Jamaican style spicy sauce that isn’t anywhere near as tomatoey as it appears. It’s similar to a BBQ sauce, but not as sweet or artificial tasting.

Plenty of green chillies garnish the potato wedges and make this a hot and quite difficult thing to eat. The cheese that adorns it looks amazing but has no real effect on the flavour due to its small quantity- all it does is make chillies and bits of potato stick to the bottom of the container, which is a little frustrating.

Much of the chicken disintegrates into the sauce, and the pieces that remain are so soft and tender than they are broken easily with a fork. It is a nice complement to the sauce and makes it easier to scoop chicken and sauce with the nicely cooked (if slightly bland) wedges.

Overall, I’d have to say that this is probably too spicy- most people will struggle to get to the end of the meal.

I’m pleasantly surprised with how tasty this was. Knock a few chillies off along with 50p off the RRSP and this would have been a real winner.
