Morrisons Chicken Biryani

£3.29 is at the high end of the ready meals market. I love the presentation of the food and the clear use of fresh ingredients. The fact that this is one of your five a day comes as a pleasant surprise.

The plentiful quantities of chicken is gorgeous- a nice tandoori flavour with a smoky, chargrilled aftertaste. The rest of the biryani, I have to say, is a little disappointing. It’s quite wet and a little bland, and would be very disappointing in a restaurant.

You never order a biryani for the chicken- you buy it for the rice and the rich flavours that have been infused into it. This dish fails to live up to that ideal, and at this price tag, that can’t really be forgiven.
