As you can see, this became a watery mess. That would be ok if it was an indulgent wateriness, but it really wasn’t. I’ve tasted more cheese at a vegan’s banquet. I’m sure a dirtier metaphor exists if you want to spice up the review. Speaking of spice, the odd mushed up chicken filling has a… [Read More]

These are a taste of my childhood*. * not really – we were too cheap for these – but THERE’S A CHEESE STRING!! We used to have cheese strings! Two wraps, four thin slices of chicken, a cheesestring and a squirt of BBQ sauce. It was quite a fun, nostalgic snack, and for £1.50 I… [Read More]
Dry as anything. The burger isn’t wide enough, so there’s a large portion of bread around the rim. The burger itself is also super dry and bready. Very peppery like it’s disguising something. Mayonnaise helps a bit.
Quick and cheerful, this is a decent sized snack for 85p. Clear cooking instructions, minimal packaging, maximum ease. Putting it on the plate to microwave, it looks a bit thin – what you want to see is a patty packed with meat. 1 minute in the microwave, and the pastry comes out a bit damp… [Read More]
Very creamy and decadent. For me, the spinach is a little too long and stringy and would have benefited from being blended first. There is too much emphasis on the cream and not enough on the cheese- I like a flavoursome, browned cheese on the top; this cannelloni didn’t deliver. *Review from May 2013
Like its double-stacked brethren, this is quick, easy, tasty, good value. And unlike the double stack “cheeseburger”, this one’s separated it out as “cheese burger”. Make up your minds, Feasters! OCD aside, I can’t really fault these burgers. I’d happily have them again and again. For a 5* review, they’d have to be positively gourmet…. [Read More]
I was impressed when I picked this out for £2 at my local Tesco. It felt big and heavy. I actually had to read the packaging to confirm that yes, it is a meal for one, and I could legitimately pig out on this without any feelings of guilt or remorse. When I got it… [Read More]
Looks kind of off-putting when you take it out of the packaging. All sweaty, like. But I guess hot dogs are universally disgusting anyway. Smells good when it’s cooked. Ketchup & mustard are both provided. The bun comes out all chewy, making this difficult to eat without making a mess or screaming that the roof… [Read More]
Deliciously crispy chicken coating, with moist chicken breast. Jasmine rice is the perfect level of stickiness and complements the meal well. A good katsu curry. The downside is that the chicken has to be cooked in the oven for twenty minutes. Bit of a faff.
Suitable for freezing – which I did – but no “heat from freeze” instructions, so have to defrost first. Not much flavour beyond “creamy”. You could argue that of any korma, but there’s not a hint of cardamom or cumin or other mild spices. Still, it’s pleasant, and there’s a lot of chicken. The packaging… [Read More]
