Has some odd, unidentifiable bits that look like stuffing. Hardly any lamb, but ultimately quite tasty. More of a rice dish, very dry, not a main course as such. Feels like you should have a curry with it. The peas make it a little more colourful and lively. Nice hint of chilli. This review comes… [Read More]

A gorgeous, rich taste of lamb permeates throughout the whole sauce. This is a little on the spicy side for a balti. Although the cooking process is a little bit of a faff, the rice does end up wonderfully fluffy and light. The lamb is delicious and tender and there is plenty of it. The… [Read More]
Tasty noodles, nice and eggy. Tasty sauce- has a subtle ginger and garlic flavour and a nice spicy kick of chili. The sauce has been artificially thickened, like in many Chinese restaurants. Plenty of chicken, which is soft and tender. The only downside is the pretty poor packaging and fairly slow cooking time.
1 of your 5 a day- a good start! Creamy, tasty sauce, lots of parsley. Sweet carrots, flavoursome peas and nice, soft potatoes. The salmon fillet is a little on the small side, but is bone-free and has a strong salmon flavour. £2, Iceland. A pleasantly healthy meal!
This is a mixed bag of delights- let me dissect them one by one. The egg has a peculiar pancake flavour. Apart from the fact that it looks so unnatural and uninviting, it actually tastes better than some of the rubbish they claim is scrambled egg in hotel buffets. These are clearly appalling sausages- bready… [Read More]
I don’t see what’s “premium” about this meal- is it the two sad looking sprouts, the one tiny lump of stuffing or the clearly artificially processed turkey in perfect circles? The gravy tastes meaty and rich, and the carrots are small, cute and juicy. The turkey tastes okay too, even if the texture is a… [Read More]
Hardly any lamb to speak of- just a few bits of mince. Nice and obvious use of fresh ingredients (you will find yourself crunching on the odd clove). Tasty flavours. Despite its lack of meat, the meal doesn’t feel lacking.
The rice has no flavour. You can see the prawns and pork but can hardly taste them. Not a tasty rice at all- merely a filling one. Do not expect this to constitute a meal in itself. It is only suitable to be eaten alongside something that disguises its own blandness. Also pictured is the Iceland… [Read More]
Absurdly sweet sauce. Has enough sourness to it but too much sugar- this tastes like it should be spread on top of a cake. The sauce is sickening and I really don’t know who could have given the go ahead on this one. Lazy students, beware- this cannot be heated in a microwave. A fair… [Read More]
The vegetables were in their own compartment, which was very watery. However, I carefully spooned the veg out and it was nicely cooked, really went nicely with the meal. The chips stick together and are slightly chewy rather than crispy, but are cooked pretty well. The mince and sauce in the sheperd’s pie really is… [Read More]
