Riya’s Chilli Chicken Ready Meal

I have rarely seen a ready meal that looks so different to the picture on the packet.

The pic on the packet looks tasty, inviting, generously proportioned. The reality is somewhat different.

The grey-brown sauce is not very pleasant in appearance or in taste, completely ruining the meal. Battered chicken is always a risky one in a microwave, and unfortunately the result here is a mushy soggy breadcrumb that’s more like a jelly than a batter when it’s cooked.

£2.75 is a bit on the pricey side when it doesn’t come with rice, and to top it all off, the terrible packaging required absolutely killing with a fork so that I could get the film lid off.

Avoid.
