Pleasant, dark taste, akin to a gravy. Basically a mincemeat gravy, only a bit mean on the mincemeat. The soup is a little bland, could do with seasoning. Meat pieces are about the size of the bits of meat that get stuck in your teeth after a hearty meal. In other words, titchy. Certainly edible,… [Read More]

When you open this tin, you’d be forgiven for being daunted by the task of eating its contents. It’s set like jelly and looks vile, and as you spoon it into a dish ready for microwaving, cutting through some overcooked penne pasta, you’ll think you’ve made a big mistake. But don’t despair! You have in… [Read More]
Really tasty! And less than 5% fat. There are a lot of beans in this. The meat is delicious, though it is “shaped from mince”, so goodness knows what’s in it. The sauce has a bite but isn’t too spicy. This really is a nice chilli con carne!
The chicken is soft but quite dry. Saying that, these are nice big pieces of chicken, quite good value. The sauce has a potent aftertaste, quite perfumey and unpleasant- I genuinely had to double-check and see if my tin was in date. It didn’t help that there was a dark black stain at the bottom… [Read More]
Okay, so it’s a bit of a cheese overload, but I was hungry and I deserved it after my exam, okay? The first thing that strikes you is the quantity of sausages- Tesco haven’t held back here, there are 7 tin-size sausages, more than other tin averages. The sausages are even softer than most tinned… [Read More]
I cooked this for the full ten minutes as per the instructions, but the pasta was slightly tough/chewy. A pleasant hint of mushroom in the sauce, but no more than that. And reasonably garlicy, though this gets a little sickly after a while. It’s a shame that the main substance of the meal is such… [Read More]
Quite a sweet, thick sauce- a bit like drinking gravy. Very simple microwave instructions. Tasty. Strong sausage flavour in the sauce. The sausage itself is a bit of a letdown- soft, less flavoursome than the sauce surrounding it. Though its softness makes eating this dish with a spoon nice and easy. The sausage meat is… [Read More]
Lovely idea, but the bowl the soup came in was making some very ominous noises in the microwave, and subsequently there was some leakage, so this wasn’t the easiest of ready meals to prepare. The bits of chicken are dry and dark brown, not very inspiring. The soup itself is passable, but has that generic… [Read More]
Hurrah! Finally I’ve found a tin whose sausages taste nice! These sausages aren’t the soft, margarine-ish texture of other tinned sausages, they actually feel reasonably meaty. And they have a pleasant BBQ taste. The pork and cereal steaklets, whose name does them no favours, are also reasonably meaty. I am very pleasantly surprised! You wouldn’t… [Read More]
Tasty sauce, actually worked really well in the pasta bake!Incredibly thick sauce, took ages to rinse the tin out afterwards! Plenty of chicken. I fried some onions and poured the tin in, then mixed with pasta and topped with cheese. Left the mixture to bake and brown in the oven. This worked surprisingly well and… [Read More]
